Celebrate Autumn By Eating Healthy

Although the colder months are fast approaching, it doesn’t mean that we have to be miserable! Autumn brings about a delicious range of produce and seasonal ingredients, which you can whip into healthy dishes and really celebrate the turn of the season.

We’ve had to bid Summer a farewell as the evenings have become darker and the temperature has officially dropped. Coats, hats and gloves are reluctantly dragged out of their summer hibernation, or we’ve splashed out on some fancy new winter warmers to help ease the pain of the cold. Faced with the prospect of having to hunker down for the next 6 months to avoid the cold and dark can be slightly depressing, as 6 months is quite a while. But here at British Corner Shop, we are ready to help you get a healthy start and embrace Autumn!

When Autumn sweeps in, it brings about the harvest meaning a huge range of nutritious natural delicacies become available. Apples, pears, chestnuts, beetroot and broccoli are a few of the seasonal favorites that can make some great British warming recipes. And faced with a British winter, it’s pretty important to keep warm and stocked full of nutrients.

Risotto with Mushrooms

Mushroom picking is again another quaint English thing to do… but only do it if you know what you’re looking for and what to avoid. It wouldn’t be great if a delightful day out in the countryside turned into something out of a horror film.

One way to avoid this scenario is to pick up some fresh mushrooms from British corner Shop or from your nearest supermarket in order to whip up this delish risotto in no time.
