Why have you opened a new distribution centre, and where is it?
Since Brexit was finalised we have successfully resolved several of the new challenges that have come our way. However, it has become clear that there are some logistical issues with shipping our products to EU countries that can only be overcome by having a base in Europe. For example, we have had to significantly reduce our EU product range due to new import regulations, and our delivery timescales for EU countries has also increased because of additional time needed for goods to pass through customs.
We are so excited about our new distribution centre in the Netherlands as it will allow us to resume the excellent service that our EU customers have become accustomed to.
What will be your dispatch times for EU orders?
We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-3 working days from the date that the order was placed. However, we kindly ask you to allow some extra time for your order to be dispatched whilst we perfect the EU ordering process. Please allow extra time for your order to be dispatched during peak times such as the lead up to Christmas. Just so you know, weekends and Bank holidays will not be classed as working days.
What will be your delivery timescales for EU orders?
Delivery timescales will vary depending on which country you are shipping to, but it should be much quicker now that we have a hub in Europe! For delivery information for your specific shipping destination, please visit the ‘Delivery’ section of our website.
Will your product range increase?
Yes! As you may be aware, we had to temporarily remove certain products from our website because of new regulations about importing certain products from the UK to the EU. Now that we’ve opened a distribution centre in the Netherlands we’ve been able to reintroduce hundreds of our customer favourites.
Will your products still be British?
Absolutely. All our products held at the new EU warehouse are shipped over from the UK. Our mission is to bring you the best British products no matter where you are and this is not going to change any time soon!
Will I have to pay VAT or customs duty for orders to EU countries?
No!! Now that your order is being shipped from within the EU, you can rest easy in the knowledge that you will not be asked to pay any additional customs fees or duties. We are so confident that this will not be charged that we guarantee to refund any customs duties paid.
Will your prices increase?
We will still continue to be as affordable as possible for our British Corner Shop community. However, because our new EU distribution centre is going to offer a premium service with quicker delivery timings, guaranteed tracking for every parcel and customs fees and duties covered by us, you may notice some small price increases on our website. We have also had to take into consideration the additional costs associated with conducting business abroad. That being said, we promise to continue to be as competitively priced as we can.
Will I have to pay extra VAT?
No!! To make things easier for our wonderful customers, we will make the VAT calculations and payments automatically behind the scenes with our courier partners. This means that you will not need to pay any additional VAT on top.
Will I have to pay Customs Duty using a tracked service?
We are thrilled to confirm that orders sent to the EU with a tracked courier service will not incur any Customs Duties. We are taking the ‘Delivery Duty Paid’ route on tracked parcels which means there is no additional charge. We are so confident that this will not be charged that we guarantee to refund any Customs Duties paid on parcels sent with this service!
Will you be bringing back a chilled range?
We are eager to get this back up and running, but due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we have postponed our chilled offering to all countries for the foreseeable future. We did not make this decision lightly as we know how popular our chilled range is to you. However, due to the restrictions, and unpredictable courier delivery dates, we feel this is the right decision for now. We are working closely with our couriers to build a better service to you, and hope that you can support us with this decision.
Will there be delays delivering to Europe?
We are working closely with our courier partners to ensure we minimise the chance of any delays in delivery, however, we would kindly ask you to allow some extra time for your order to arrive during the first few weeks we are offering this new service.
Which EU countries are eligible for this new service?
Republic of Ireland
