We’re Moving to a New EU Warehouse!

As you know, Brexit has created a lot of challenges for our business, and it has become clear that if we want to provide our EU customers with the best service possible then changes need to be made.

So, we’re extremely excited to announce that from the 8th of April we’ll be making the move to our very own warehouse in The Netherlands (as opposed to the third-party distribution centre we’re in now).

This new warehouse provides us with double the amount of space (so we can hold more stock), allows us to hire our own employees (to ensure a higher quality of packing and stock management) and means we can once again run our own communications (allowing us to have better over-sight of your orders).

The process of moving into our new pad has already begun, and while we make this move there will be some unavoidable disruption to our service in the EU.

Rest assured we’ll be making sure we keep everyone up to date with progress and will let you know when the move is complete.

What Our New EU Warehouse Means for You

Running down of stock

Our stock levels between now and mid-April will drop significantly, but don’t worry this is intentional! We plan to wind down the stock in our current warehouse in preparation for the big move.

This means your favourite items may be out of stock for a couple of weeks but will return to healthier levels from the week commencing 18th of April.

Delays in dispatch

Between wrapping up in the old warehouse (8th April) and being completely set up in the new warehouse (25th April), there will likely be delays to our dispatch times. However, we will do our best to dispatch orders within 3-5 working days.

Benefits to you

  • Better Communication

With our new warehouse we can talk to you again and provide important information regarding your order when it matters the most.

  • Stock Control

Following the move to new warehouse, our stock levels will be managed under one metaphorical roof – by-passing any third-party operations. This allows us to have better visibility of our stock and ensure products are replenished much faster than they have been.

  • Quality Control

Our teams in our new warehouse will be British Corner Shop employees, so stock replenishment will be more efficient and held to a higher standard.

We’ve also taken into consideration your feedback regarding packing and have decided to send over our top pickers and packers from the UK to onboard and train all of the new warehouse operatives – ensuring your orders arrive in tip-top condition!

  • New Lines

Being in control of our own warehouse gives us much more control over what we can stock – meaning some new and exciting range introductions are on the cards for summer 2022!

  • Investing in the EU

We’ve made a considerable effort to listen to the feedback we’ve been receiving from our EU customers to understand what elements of our service are causing the biggest frustrations.

Making the move to this new premises has required considerable investment but will significantly help us combat some of these issues, and in turn allow us to offer our customers a top-quality service once again.

Key Dates in April

  • 7th – Last order dates for pre-Easter deliveries
  • 8th – 10th – Final wrap up of packing your orders at our current warehouse and new orders are pushed through to our Wijchen warehouse 11th – All orders placed now go via our new warehouse
