The BCS Bake Along: Challenge 2
With the Great British Bake Off gripping the nation, we thought we better get involved. Well, we can’t stop thinking about cake with every newspaper, website, blog, Facebook and Twitter feed sharing pictures and recipes of delicious baked goods!
Our Bake Along has had one challenge already that finished today. The first challenge was for ‘The Ultimate Sponge Cake‘ and we had some excellent entries! We’ve compiled our favourites below:
From Strawberry Victorian Sponges to layered Carrot cakes, daisy decor to unique GBBO stencils, and perfect cupcakes to Easter Sponge Cakes; we were astounded by the quality! It made it pretty hard to pick a winner so we had to turn to the whole British Corner Shop office for a vote…

Charlotte is from the UK and had cut out her own GBBO stencil to dust her icing sugar around. This lovely sponge cake was presented beautifully and looks simply divine. Charlotte, your Dr Oetker Baking Hamper is on its way!
